Today let’s talk about casting price,we all know that the prices gap is minimal for common castings.So some of the manufacturer or supplier often quote you KG price directly.So you will calculate your casting price according to your part weight.Don’t be misled.Because when you place the order you will find the price become much expensive than you expect.Yes,this price only applies to ordinary castings parts. But not applicable to complex structure parts.
There are many factors affecting the price,the first is structure.For example,some castings like valve or pump with narrow runner,deep holes even very thin wall.For these parts we usually need to adopt special processes like urea core.water-soluble core even with ceramic core.This will lead to a higher price. For some thin wall investment casting parts,it is usually with high rejection rate.Although rejection rate is also related to other factors as melt quality,gate design,feeding system,process discipline and so on,however structure complex remains the most important factor.
The second factor is material.Some material like stainless steel,duplex stainless steel,Titanium alloy steel price are higher than the common material. So for the castings is not all cookie-cutter price.
The third is mechanical property requirements and NDT level,Some important castings need high NDT level like PT,MT,UT,RT.This is also a key factors
